DT Swiss 240 DEG Rear Hub

Features the Ratchet DEG 90 freehub system with a 4° engagement angle

Two enlarged ratchets with 90 teeth offer the smallest engagement angle ever made in the DT Swiss portfolio. On the trail, this allows for more direct acceleration as well as the possibility to adjust the pedal position faster, like when overcoming obstacles on a technical uphill trail.

Made of steel, the DEG ratchets are bigger than all the previous DT Swiss ratchets and aim to transmit the power of even the strongest riders for a long time and across a large contact surface.

The Ratchet DEG freehub bodies have a bigger diameter at their ratchet interface to suit the size-optimized DEG ratchets and are therefore compatible only with Ratchet DEG equipped hubs. The seal is located on the freehub.

With a larger bearing distance than the classic Ratchet system, the Ratchet DEG system has the drive side bearing placed next to the threaded ring, unlike the Ratchet EXP with its integrated bearing in the threaded ring. The construction of the Ratchet DEG hub allows bearing replacement without special tools, as the threaded ring does not have to be removed.
