I only got one ride out of them and the rubber tread tore open allowing the tube to balloon out through the hole and pop. The rubber split at the tread and just left a big split in the tire even though they are BRAND new. I am disgusted at the quality of this product and will never be buying from maxxis again.

The Bad
worst road tire I"ve ever rode
Overall Review:

In over 25 yrs of riding MTB"s I"ve never rode such a bad tire. The Maxxis "Griffter" tire is such a disappointment its hard to describe.

The first night I got the tires, I pumped them up to 57 psi. and went for a very short ride, the next day I woke up to two flat tires or what I call "Factory" flats. I apparently didn't check the insides of the tires good enough before I put them on, O.K. my fault

I then went for my first of three rides and having the tires pumped up to 61.5psi. being a 40mi.,45mi. and a 57mi. all went well and it should have, then it started happening, Flats and more flats then more flats, in all six flats in less than six weeks, the last one being today, screwed up my evening.

I'm scared to death to ride anywhere, I always keep my  flat kit on me , the quick patch Co. loves me ,goin  through them at will.

I have to keep my rides on my brand new $700.00 bike to very local, don't go more than a few hundred yards now, too scared, its a shame.I miss doing the 30mi. Sat. rides

Hands down the worst $110.00 I"ve ever spent on tires. I"ve had cheaper tires from a different Co. last me years without problems. I only wish I could give this a neg 5 rating.

Bottom line, Its a lot of money to waste and your freedom to enjoy your hobby is shot.

Smooth, super light, slides well, surprisingly durable, reliable tire
The Bad
a little wide profile, pretty thin
Overall Review:
I've had this sucker on for about a year, and I've been surprised by just how well it's held up. It's still going strong, I put it on a new Zero rim and was getting pinch flats, but found out it was an issue with the weight holes inside the rim, put an extra rim strip in and have only had two flats since. The park I usually ride is pretty sketch and there's some loose nails, screws, splinters, and junk most of the time, I've had 2 puncture flats with it, but honestly it's the kind of crap I'd expect out of any tire riding here.

Rolls pretty fast for as fat as it is, and is pretty good at absorbing an impact. It's also worn in really well, and still has tons of tread (I ride two or three times a week, and usually most of the day when I do) it's even been holding up pretty well to tire slides on quarters and it's taken a ton of grinding abuse.

I had little hope for it when I first bought it, I figured it was too light and would probably crap right out on me, but at this point I'm having a hard time finding another tire I'd rather have in the back.
