Convenient Tool Solution
Featured Member ReviewDurable, lightweight, holds a good number of tools.
Hard to get off the stand once you get it on.
Initial Impressions
I had my Park Tool home mechanic stand for a few months before purchasing this awesome add on. I had seen it pictured with the stand online, but didn't get it because I felt a bit maxed out at the $170 for the stand itself. Working on projects like switching chainrings, removing the bb etc had me moving back and forth in my garage a lot. I would set a part down and then forget where I put it. I also had to keep moving tools back and forth between my bench and the stand. What I needed was a better organization system. I got this tray to keep parts and the tools right at my fingertips while working on a job.
Function
This tray has two pegs that snap in to pre-set holes on Park Tool stands. It is easy to install, but pretty tough to get them out. I only remove it when I am traveling, so that hasn't been a big issue. There are seven various sized holes for Y wrenches and all of your other favorite tools. The bigger tools that don't fit have balanced well on the large tray. The side compartment is the perfect size for lube, degreaser, and other products I am using all the time. The small section of the tray with the park tool logo is perfect for putting small parts in so they don't get misplaced in the middle of a project. For even more convenience with small parts, check out the Park Tool Magnetic Bowl. Mine has been super handy.
Durability
My stand has tipped over a few times with this attached. The plastic did not break, and the metal framing held its original shape. I have owned this for just under 4 years and have been satisfied with its performance. If you have a mechanic stand by Park Tool, I would highly suggest getting this as well.
