Although most people see the barren, treeless landscape of the 8,200 foot high Peavine Mountain and think it’s nothing but scrub infested high desert terrain, Peavine actually has a wealth of flora and fauna. With lush alpine landscapes of pine trees and aspens at higher elevation, mahogany forests in middle elevation and dry, rocky and dusty desert terrain at lower elevation, Peavine is home to more than 700 different species of plants and animals.
