Video: Tommy G’s „Pattern“

When Mountain Biking Becomes Art

Munich, 8 May 2026 – When creative minds come together, big things can happen. And when those minds belong to MTB style icon Thomas Genon and filmmaker Jules Langeard, mountain biking turns into art. That’s exactly what happened in Tommy’s new video project, “Pattern”.

“Most projects we work on as riders are built around progression. Tricks, features, big moments. You usually know what the goal is. You know what you’re aiming for. With Pattern, it was different. At first, it wasn’t always clear where everything was going. Some of the ideas felt unusual. But that was also what made it interesting. Projects like this change the way I ride. They take me out of my usual routine and push me to think differently. It’s refreshing to step outside your habits and approach riding from another angle.” – Creative Belgian rider Thomas Genon

“PATTERN is a system disguised as a riding film. Riding follows a pattern: you pedal, you shift, you brake, and then you do it again. It’s a cycle, a system in which each part has a function. With this project, we didn’t want to break that logic, we wanted to translate it. Pattern is not just a video, it’s a system built around movement, balance, speed and control. Each loop isolates one function of riding, and together they form a complete line. The film is built in five parts: Movement, Balance, Speed, Control and Continuity. Each one exists as a standalone loop, but each one also represents a real function of the bike.” – Creative French filmmaker Jules Langeard
