On the 12th of April last year sadly my friend Michael Lloyd died from meningitis. He was an avid mountain biking fan, he loved the Downhill MTB World Cups and the XC MTB World Cups. In his memory last year on the 7th of May 2011. Me and a few other friends held a Downhill Memorial  Race in aid of the meningitis trust and the Newcastle Freeman Hospital. We raised £750 for the charity and the hospital. Around 300 people came to watch and they weren't disappointed the racing was won by 0.2seconds.This year we would like to do the same however we need prizes for the races and some prizes to raffle off. The prizes last year where provided at very short notice by MX1 (, Halfords (,  FOX europe and Atherton racing (
However this year we have a lot more time to prepare the race on May 6th 2012. We aim to raise more money this time for the same charity but can only do that with the help of you kind of people. Please can you get back in touch if you feel you have something you could offer that could be used a prize. In return I will happily accept any leaflets or posters or any advertising to be put up in the gazebo we will have there like we did last year with the MX1 posters.
