Masters Worlds #2












Camboriu it's all set for the 7th! 


Balneário Camboriú, Brasil, September 1st, 2010 – 147 athletes from all over the world had 


confirmed their participation on the UCI Master Worlds, that will take part between 7th and 12th of 


September in Balneário Camboriú, located on Santa Catarina's shore. 


Despite this is an international event, the majority of the racers belong to South American countries. 


Among the registereds, Brazil with 79 racers, Argentina with 23 and Chile with 16, show 


themselves on the top of the list of subscribed riders. Even though, there are riders from Europe, 


North America and Oceania that are going to battle for the 8 Worlds titles that will be on the table 


next week. 


The stars of the show 


In this race, the categories that normally hold the fastest (and most famous) riders are the closest to 


the 30/35 one. They usually has ex-icons from the Pros events of DHI that decided to have a very 


active "retirement". Here are some highlights : 


Martin “Cepi” Raffo and Gonzalo Rodriguez 


Argentinians riders that raced some European and American seasons. Camboriú isn't new to them, 


as they were in the start list of 2005 and 2006's World Cups that the city held. Nowadays they 


maintain a MTB School called GRAVITY, and together they hold the title of the Open Shimano, 


one of the most remarkable series of South America.

Felipe and Sebastian Vasquez 


Brothers born in Chile that made they're own fame in South America. Sebastian it's a veteran in 


Brazilian races, and already participated on the Urban DH in Santos on this year's February. He also 


holds 5 PanAmerican titles. 













Jayime Mart 


British Elite Downhill Mountain Bike racer Jaymie has competed internationally for 7 years, 


achieving consistent top 25 placings in the UCI World Cup.  Regionally, she has recently sealed her 


6th Scottish Championship title and has won 2 British University Championships titles. 











Luciano “Kdra” Lancelotti and Caio Salerno 


Two brazilians whom stories mixes with Brazilian gravity MTB's one. Caio had done from BMX to 


Diir Bike trials in his career and now works in his own bike brand : Soul Cycles. 


“Kdra”, nickname given on the childhood of ESPN's Mundo2Rodas show Director, it's another 


chameleon of the sport, He was one of the predecessors of Freeride in Brazil.

Patricia Loureiro 


Brazilian rider that won everything that could be conquered in Brazil's Women DH scene. She 


retired from the Pro category couple years ago, but never really left the sport. We already spotted 


her training around and she will show herself as one of the favourites for the 30/35 title.
