Denver, Co – May 22, 2012 – The 12th annual Lyons Outdoor Games will be held on June 8 – 10 in beautiful Lyons, Colorado. Over it's eleven year history the games have evolved from a few friends getting together into a world class celebration of mountain sports. The games include kayaking, fly fishing, dog events and this year features expanded offerings for MTB and BMX. The 2012 Lyons Outdoor Games bike events will feature the Vitamin Water Dirt Jump Jam, the Freelap Pump Track race as well as riding clinics throughout the weekend.PhotoThe premier bike event of the weekend will be the Vitamin Water Dirt Jump Jam held on Saturday  June 9th at 1:00pm. The dirt jump jump course is all new for 2012 and features a drop-in into 2 trickable jumps with wooden lips. As well as a third surprise obstacle. Classes will be divided into amateurs and pro with all wheel sizes welcome! The Pro's will be competing for over $2000 in cash while the amateur class will be competing for stacks of products from the sponsors. 

The Freelap Pump Track race is scheduled for Sunday June 10th. The Lyons bike park pump track is a technical and fun course designed by Lee McCormack. The layout of this track should make for some great racing action. Classes will be divided into amateur and pro as well as age groups. This year will also feature a special Strider Bike class so even the little ones (age 1-4) can get in on the action. We will have Strider bikes available for test rides. PhotoThose of any age looking to improve or fine tune their bike handling skills for the season will be interested in the clinics being offered throughout the weekend. Clinics are being offered in pump track riding and dirt jumping for all skill levels. The instructors from PlusSizeBMX will be running the clinics including professional mountain biker, Tammy Donahugh (Superco/Deity) who will be on hand to teach the Womens clinics all weekend.

In addition to the bike events the Lyon's Outdoor games will also be hosting the Burning Can Beer Fest  on Saturday June 9th. “A beer festival celebrating puttin' the good stuff in cans” will be a great event and an opportunity to try out a multitude of craft beer in cans.
