The New TPC 5

TPC is at the forefront of changing the way cyclists buy bikes.

Cycling is constantly evolving, and TPC is at the forefront of changing the way cyclists buy bikes. Now, we’re launching the next stage of our journey with a new look and a renewed commitment to empowering your riding experience.

We’re still The Pro’s Closet, but go ahead and call us “TPC” — many of our customers, employees and folks in the industry already do. You don’t choose your own nickname, but we’re glad TPC is ours, and we’ve embraced the change with a new logo, a fresh color palette and a streamlined digital experience.

We hope you’ll join the ride with us. But first, let’s take a look at where it all began.

TPC Through the Years

The eBay Logo (2006-2015)

Our founder, Nick Martin, started TPC in 2006 while chasing his pro racing dreams and living out of his VW Bus. To make ends meet, he sold his used race gear on eBay and eventually sold gear for teammates and other local cyclists. For many years, eBay auctions were the foundation of the business and the original logo reflected this by using eBay’s red, blue, yellow and green color scheme.

TPC grew rapidly into the largest bike seller on eBay, which meant we needed to hire more employees and find more warehouse space. We also designed a new logo to match our get-it-done attitude. The inspiration came from one of Nick’s favorite artists, Elvis Presley, and his “TCB” logo. “TCB” stands for “taking care of business,” and conveniently, it sounded like TPC. This was also the first logo to feature our signature green.

The CPO Logo (2018-2023)

2018 was the year we established TPC as an e-commerce destination by launching our own website and introducing the industry’s first Certified Pre-Owned bike program. This shift meant we also needed a new logo that was uniquely ours. Every Certified Pre-Owned bike is inspected, serviced and guaranteed by our team of professional bike mechanics, and the new logo was designed to reflect that process with three elements flowing into one to create an implied "P.”
