how to set up cockpit?

hey guys i got my giant talon 4 27.5 and i need to adjust the brakes and gear shifters, is there a way youre meant to have them or is it just personal preference?

There's a lot of personal preferance involved. There's also a video the Vital guys did explaining how to do it.

Yes, there's a huge amount of personal preference. Being a man with big hands, size twelves poke through pretty quick and thirteens are hard to find, I tend to run my shifter in different places than most people and my brakes down closer to vertical than anyone I've seen. Moto guys like their brake levers almost flat and there's no way that would work for me. When you set things up, keep in mind that you'll ride both sitting and standing up and find a middle ground that works for both. Plus there are seat post remotes that need consideration. Can't help you there, I'm a bit behind the times.
