I have a choice between these two brakes and wanted to know which is a better brake. By better I mean which is more durable, powerful and which has better feel at the lever. I know some info is subjective but I would appreciate any feedback or opinions. Thanks ahead

Have used both in the last year and I like the xt better, the newer xt has more modulation than the older models and they are easy to maintain than avid/sram. Guide is a good brake nothing wrong with it, overall i feel the shimano makes a better brake, i'm using a xt rear brake and xt lever and a saint caliper on the front for my downhill bike

Thanks for the feedback, I was using saint levers with lower xtr calipers that I liked but the saint levers spring came out so the blade just flops around. I probably gonna go with the XTs, the whole DOT fluid bleed is almost enough to make me stay away from the Guides,, anyway thanks for the input.
