IBEX Kids bikes

I am looking for a 20' wheel "real" MTB for my 5 yr. old son. Not impressed with any of the big name branded bikes. They all look like the same bike! Maybe the Trek Superfly 20 but even that looks like it would need at least different gearing and a different crank to ride the hills here in TN. I have looked at Spawn and Islabikes those are possibilities. I recently ran across Ibex bikes on-line but can't find any reviews on them that are not 3 or 4 years old. Anyone out there have a recent experience with the company and their kids bikes. Older reviews were very positive. Any other suggestions in the $500 or less range?
