Hello,

I am looking to upgrade my ride, I currently have a L 2017 Trek Remedy 9.9, XT group set and brakes etc.

I am looking at a couple of options, carbon is not a huge factor in the purchase as i am more of a weekend warrior than a racer.

Option 1: XL 2019 Santa Cruz Bronson, Alloy, S-kit, 27.5"
Option 2: XL 2019 Trek Slash 9.7 or 9.8, 29"

I personally think the extra $$ to move to the S-kit on the santa cruz is worth it.

But would like peoples thoughts on where i should go with this.

I say go alloy Santa Cruz. I used to live in town and broke a lot of bikes. I like to describe myself as an unpaid, but easy warrantied test rider. Then the cracking stopped. They've found the recipe for heat treating alloy. Carbon is expensive and it breaks.
