Giant Trance front wheel removal

Friends,

After a few rides on a brand new Trance, it is time to beef up the tires. Only problem is that I have no idea how to remove this front wheel! The back wheel has a DT Swiss quick release, and was easy to remove. The front wheel is another story. What am I missing? Do I need tools to do this?

This is my first dual suspension bike, so some of the technology is pretty foreign to me.

Thanks everyone!

So your bike seems to have a Rock Shox with a 15mm Maxle. It should have a quick release looking lever on one side, that when opened should be able to slot into a notch in the axle itself. Open it up, slot her in and you should then be able to unthread the whole Maxle. I've only got an older Lyric and have never actually used a 15mm version, but that's how mine works.

Just open the quick release and unscrew the thru-axle!
(Never done before? Either you've got a very big van, or you always start from home...
