My wife just got a 2020 Tues and she is not sure where to start with the bar height, is there an average number the DH riders are 5'5 tall ride? Our riding is 50/50 bikepark jumps / steep nautral DH. We are looking for a good number to start with and recommendation of too high / too low.

At 6'7" I've been all over the range through my riding career. I had the very first riser bar in it's tallest format (Azonic 21/2".) because risers were new and cool and I was tall. But as the years went by and DH suspension grew in length of travel, I ended my riding career running lower and lower bars (Chromag 20mm.) to maintain a more aggressive stance. At 5'5" with bigger wheels (My career died on 26's.) I'd say start on the low side and go up from there. In the early days of 29"DH the flat bar even made a brief comeback.

what would you consider a low starting point? 42 Inches from the middle of the bar end plug to the ground?
also the bike is a 27.5 if that means anything

For her size I'd say go low, like 20mm rise just for a bit of style points. Higher bars give some level of confidence for a new rider, but also can reinforce bad habits in female riders like hiding behind the bars straight armed and steering too much with the hips. Go back and watch some women's world cup footage and compare Ratchel Atherton's riding style to most of the other ladies. She's much more over the front, elbows out and ready for action.
