Crank swapping?? Help needed

I'm looking to swap out my 3 ring crank for a 2 ring with a bashguard. I've already hit the big ring quite a few times and I have the money to do the swap now. I'm looking at the holzfeller's but my question is do I have to swap out my front derailluer? I've heard of guys messing with their 3 speed fronts and making it work. Any advice??

i had a 3 speed front on a 2 ring and bash just don't shift in to 3rd and you'll be fine

Just tighten the high limit screw on the front derailuer. This way no accident upshifts to the bash guard.
