can u paint a spring

i have a stock steel spring for a dhx rc4 and was wondering if i could paint it white cause iv seen em on bikes before but i was just thinking that the paint might just crack and peal, has anyone done this or know how please

latex paint might work its just like rubber im not for shure but check with a local painter and theyll might be able to tell you for shure

its all about the flex in it, latex would be your best bet, but thin thin coats, orr one big shrink wrap could do it
