Back when Vital had regional sections in the forums, I tried time and time again to find out the condition of the Gabby Trail both before and after the fire, then floods that I heard had done major damage to it. Before the fire i was met with stone cold silence as if you folks were protectors of a secret gem which in my opinion is the Downieville of LA. Then after the fire and such, again nobody felt a need to talk about it. I guess that was the rebuilding stage. Then shuttle companies formed and apparently the trail was open again. Given the new crop of shuttle vids popping up.

Years ago in the early nineties, I used to ride the Gabielano Trail. I'd ride from my parent's house in San Marino (On the poor side of the tracks.) and ride to the Top of Allen St. where the Mt. Wilson Toll Rd. starts. From there it's a thirteen mile climb to the top of Mt. Wilson. Down a mile or so of asphalt was Red Box Station where the Gabrielano Trail starts. Then down how ever many miles down it was and back past JPL to my Parent's house.

Does any body still do it like that? Or is it just shuttles? How has the trail changed? Any other info?
