Yuroshek, Are you telling me that you think someone "claimed that title" because of the editor's caption you read? Unless you hear that claim from someone from the mountain, I wouldn't suggest you assume anyone "claimed that title." We think Diablo is sick, and a real asset to mountain biking in the US. All bike parks are. They are helping grow a sport that we ALL love.

Hating doesn't flatter you. We paid twelve deep in pro men. Any other pro men's race doing that? Doing our best to make US racing great and help the working pros out there. Why start the drama? Very unbecoming. And classless.

I was thinking more like it was a random mistake. I really dumb one, but less an institutional problem than an individual one. The photog issue is a tough one, especially at the bigger events (even moreso sea otter slalom). Those dudes are all scrambling to get something different than the other guys standing next to them getting the same...

I was standing right there (but then you knew that), less than ten feet away, inside the event fence, talking with a UCI official I worked with at nationals last year and saw the whole damned thing. The dude was standing on the tabletop landing after the first big, left hand berm. He was NOT watching the action at all...

@dynamatt, although there are no whoops in that particular section yet, you won't be disappointed by the whoops you will encounter in another steep section or two.

I go calamari for breakfast and lunch and shake industry types down for free beer for dinner. No sense lettiing all that off-season conditioning go to waste. I train for Sea Otter all winter by consuming as much fried food and alcohol as possible. How else am is my body supposed to perform in Monterey if I don't teach it...

It's really too bad those guys don't seem to be having any fun with this sport and their chosen professions. This vid doesn't make me want to drop everything and go ride immediately or anything like that at all. I'm super psyched it's not summer and I'm not in Whistler right now. Gawd, I hate riding.

remember kids, we gotta keep it fun for EVERYBODY. Might be some options for some airtime, but nothing too crazy . Josh, hit me up. I believe there is going to be some volunteer opportunities with the dh, but don't know the details yet. It's cool to be contacted by so many, in such a short time, offering help. Reminds me that this community is down for the cause and just wants to make racing/riding better. Humbled and proud to be a mountain biker today.
