The new “Bolt-On, Quick-Swap” system is designed for easier attachment/detachment of the fender, increased durability, stiffness, and new graphics options.
The third generation of Bolt On, Quick Swap features the biggest redesign of the fender-to-mount attachment system yet.
On the mount, hooked arms with recessed channels mate with straps on the fender, and when paired with the existing upper snap-fit tabs create an even more secure, locked-in connection between the two components.
Yet even while being more secure, the V3 fender is actually easier to attach and detach from the mount. Instead of requiring the fender tabs to be pushed into place from the small space between the tire and the mount arms, now the fender is simply pushed backwards onto the hooks which slide under the straps and lock them into place.
All V3 fenders have been updated with revamped spine designs to further increase stiffness, and finally, all BOQS variants feature a choice of updated graphics: the classic Horsie logo which is slightly smaller than before, or a new “CavaNero” type logo which blends into the central spine structures.
A final but not trivial benefit of the V3 system is that the effective thickness of a BOQS fender is now around 2.6mm, as compared to almost 10mm of the previous generation where the snap tabs protruded upwards. This means roughly 70% more fenders can be packed or displayed in the same volume!
