V10 chainstay growth

Hello guys i wanted to know the max chainstay growth of a 2014 (8.5) travel v10
Pleas help as i wanted to know if i could use a x01 short cage deraileur

I'd go to the Santa Cruz website and see what they spec. on complete bikes. Though I'd think that most designers keep derailleur strikes in mind and keep their designs short cage compatible. If nothing else, set it up with an old used road derailleur to find out. Set it up without a spring and cycle it through the travel and you'll find out pretty quick.

Short cage with a 1x setup on the V10 will be fine, just make sure to mind your chain length when you cut the chain (as you would with any bike).

The short cage will fit but you will risk the spring durability . Med is the better spec . Also chain length/measurement is different so watch the Vid on install .
