Cracking noise coming from transmission area

I'm riding a 2011 Lapierre rapt 2.2 model and recently i've heard cracking noises coming from what I suspect to be the transmission area when I pedal. at first I thought it was the chain, so i tightened the chain, still made the cracking noise... so i thought I'd try the Bottom Bracket, turns out my bearings were in a pretty bad condition so I fit a whole new BB kit in hope to solve the problem... still makes the noise, really out of ideas for what the noise could be Sad
any suggestions as to what it might be would be really appreciated.

I can provide pictures if needs be, but not as individual parts.

I don't know how old the bike is, but it could be a worn out chain and cogs. When worn out or especially mismatched, the chain can begin to derail and make a noise as it pops back onto the cog. It could also be an internal issue with the pauls in the hub.

If its the cog would that mean a new cassette :/? and a mate said I should just lube everything up so I'll give that a go at the weekend

It seems to be a single speed since you said you tightened the chain. So if it has a BMX style cassette they're cheap to replace. But if the drivetrain is worn you'll have to replace the chain at the same time to avoid a mismatched drivetrain. Possibly even the chainring. And if it does use a BMX cassette, that eliminates the pauls in the hub.

I dont know if your bike is a fullsusbike or hardtail but it could come from the linkage, rearhub, chainring bolts, deraillurhanger or even the seatpost. Make sure everything is tight and greeased and if you cant tighten it then it might be worn out so replace it.

Cheers for the replies guys, i've decided I'm going to firm the cracking sounds and when Christmas eventually rolls around spoil myself and my bike to basically a whole new rear end aha!
