Specialized Wishes Sam Hill Farewell 17

Sam Hill and Specialized are going their separate ways starting in 2013. Everyone at Specialized would like to send their thanks to Sam. Thanks for the wins, time working on the bikes and equipment, and of course all the fantastic memories! They wish him and his family the best of luck next year and the years to come.

Great branding effort Specialized. It's good to see there are no hard feelings and that there is much respect for the relationship. Excited for 2013!

@sspomer Nice that at least one webzine checks for embargo dates (Shimano's marketing department loves this topic 4 sure), as many contracts are still valid until the end of the calendar year. If you can add some info and depth to the existing and untimely leaked press release, that is all the more welcome. Keep up the good work @VitalMTB.

not much more to say other than CRC had a very clear embargo date of Jan 1 with the press release yet sites disrespected the request and posted it anyway to be "first" with the news. like you mentioned, there are contractual reasons that the official news can't be announced until certain times and we respect that.

Wasn't it just one site that broke the embargo though.
So labelling the others with the same brush is just a tad harsh eh.

what you guys probably don't realize is that CRC asked that the news and press release not go out until jan 1. the sites that posted the press release early cut the course which is super lame. i'm sure most of you don't really care, but Vital respects the wishes of CRC and we are playing by the rules and staying on the course. we'll have the press release up when it's "legal" along with some special Q&A.

Then Vital should be rewarded by CRC for following the rules, maybe an exclusive or something of the sorts.

They most likely will... one way to find out loyal sites to industry news is to put out information like this and see which ones behave and which don't.

Yes it was announced last week. CRC NUKEPROOF. I dont know for sure but I would look for Mitch to step back up to fill in the Specailized World Cup team. He did well last year filling in for Troy, he has the skill.

You guys must have enjoyed the Xmas holidays, as Sam Hill's new team has been communicated on December 23.
It's gonna be CRC-Nukeproof, which leaves us with the question: Who will take Sam's spot next to Troy Brosnan?
