Serious question: what’s behind the “e-bike pilot site” nomenclature? I gotta wonder how far we are away from spots that are designed expressly for self-shuttling and in particular e-bike self shuttles. I can envision hot-swap battery stations at the base of the mountain. Fully emissions-free ride spots. How cool would that be?

Darrington North Mountain trails were built with the intention of integrating ebikes from the start as part of the plan. Ebikes aren't currently "legal" to ride on all public lands in the state but this project will help pave the way to reasonable access.
