And we’re back! Locals Episode #4! This week's installment is about another San Diego native, Luca Cometti. It’s not often that you can say a 20-year-old is one of your role models but that's cause there aren't many 20-year-olds like Luca.

He has a million interests and passions and somehow excels at every one of them. From becoming a full-time World Cup racer to his amazing photo skills, Big Red is in tune with every aspect of the activity and knows exactly what he needs/wants to do with it. Don't be fooled by his focus and determination, though, this kid will make you pee your pants with his dry humor and off the cuff one-liners. We got the chance to catch up with him on a trail that he's been riding his dirt jumper on since he was 13. We couldn't be happier on how well this captures Luca’s personality and shredding abilities.

2015 was a huge year for The Ginga Ninja and his racing career. Cometti took the US National Dual Slalom title for the second year in a row. He was also selected for the Intense Factory Race Team and raced half the World Cups. His multiple top-40 results earned him a spot for World Championships in Vallnord, where he knocked our socks off with a 26th. With a killer first year with the big dogs, Luca was brought on board fulltime and will attend all the World Cups for 2016.

Outside of racing Luca’s passions include; surfing, moto, photography, skateboarding, video directing, bocce ball, mini golf, Miata racing, dog rescuing, his lovely wife, long walks on the beach and taking his pants off at Sea World.
