Elevating MTB Wheel Design: See the New Roval Traverse Lineup 5

With a fresh take on the traditional j-bend wheel design, Roval Components is proud to introduce a revamped range of Traverse wheels in both aluminum and carbon. The wheels prioritize ease of maintenance, function over fashion, and are light yet durable. All wheels are backed by a lifetime guarantee and crash replacement program.

Roval took a new approach to the flanges on the Traverse SL hubs, which now feature what Roval calls Step Flanges. "By machining the flanges, we’re able to run all rear non-drive-side spokes head-in without the spoke kink at the flange that leads to stress-risers, fatigue, and premature spoke failure. Fewer busted spokes equals more ride time, and that’s a very good thing."

I really don't understand.
Roval traverse SL 2018: DT350, 29/148mm, 1,577g, USD 1.500.
Roval Traverse SL 2019: DT240, 29/148mm, 1735g, USD 1.900.
Heavier and costs 25% more.
That's why I sold both SJ and Enduro to be really happy with a @YT Capra carbon top specs for half of a Swork$!!

Are these 24F/28R spokes again? I love the rims but I had to go back to the older Traverse 32 spoke wheelset just for the stiffness... 200+ lbs aggressive rider...

I am pretty much a hub/wheel purist (J bend spokes, not proprietary hole patterns or hole #'s). I've been building wheels since 1994. That said, the actual hub flanges her intrique me a bit.
