It is a job. Your sponsor just put up a four day travel plan and your job is to ride it. Sure it may look dumb but it is time to get to work and make it look fun and steezy.

Lame. Stupid. What was the point? I'd have to question my intelligence if I was one of these guys. There comes a point when you have to weigh the variables and reward (or lack thereof) against the value of your own well being, which means sometimes telling your sponsor, "this is just stupid. No."

when I first saw this event I thought it was ridiculous, but after watching this vid...I think it's sort of awesome and different.

Looks like the dumbest event set up ever. Redbull dropped a massive clanger on this one!

I agree with @Oz_Taylor it didn't look impressive at all. Riders had to drag brakes down the entire course to avoid injury. Zero technicality involved in riding the track.

Fair play to the riders who tried to make the best of it after flying half way around the world. Shame some of them had to get hurt!

All those wooden surfaces looked as slick as ice. Sketchy!

Got to 2 minutes then switched off after the guy crashed on the step down. The risk to reward ratio for this event was ridiculous, and it didn't even look impressive to watch. It was fortunate that someone didn't leave with permanent injuries, or worse. McGarry was lucky. Red Bull have brought so many positive things to our sport but this wasn't one of them. The less said about this event the better.

You should have kept watching because it was all so wild, especially the dude attempting the superman off that last step down. I'm not sure how the intense steepness along with the drastic landscape didn't make it seem impressive but I thought it was very intense... my hands are still sweaty. At every event riders are open to serious injuries (even in DH- Francois Gachet if you have the stomach for it) and there will always be fans who will see it as unnecessary risk because of how gnarly it is. Red Bull has brought a lot of good because of the weird/strange events like this (Rampage for example was very new and denounced by a lot of riders because freeriding at the time wasn't understood). MTBing's history is scattered with really strange but wild events like this. This event will probably disappear into non-remembrance but I feel that people forget the history of this sport when they denounce it so hard. I hope Red Bull keeps on coming up with ideas and are open for different event ideas because MTBing wouldn't be anywhere near where it is today without that attitude.
