HIGH-SPEED DOWNHILL! Vital RAW, 2019 Les Gets World Cup Day 2 7

Vital RAW

Fast, loose and nearly out of control! World Cup Downhill mountain bikers get their race lines prepped before qualifying at the 2019 UCI event in Les Gets, France. The course carries more speed than any other this season with wide-open grass turns and jumps that send competitors into orbit. A tricky-but-fast woods section breaks up the drifting ski run corners. The last jump at the end of the video is brutal on the bikes and riders with a crooked, off-camber flat landing. You can hear the suspension bottom out and the bikes twist. Rachel Atherton ruptured her Achilles tendon on the jump and is out of the race.

Amaury Pierron and Tracey Hannah ended up qualifying fastest today. Full qualifying results from Les Gets can be found here.
