Located off the coast of Portugal, the island of Madeira is home to some of the most beautiful trails in the world. Each year they host the Trans Madeira event, a 5-day, 30-stage enduro race that covers just about every trail on the island. After a long season haunted by false starts due to injury, Brian Cahal decided what better way to make his grand return to racing than with one of the most epic races in the world. Arriving in Madeira a little underprepared after taking months off the bike, his expectations were low, and his focus was to make the best of riding in such a special place.
