Troy Lee Designs Speed Knee Sleeve
The Good

- Lightweight - Comfortable while pedalling - Enough padding for most trail rides - Stay in place

The Bad

- Material has become rougher over time, irritating my knees

Overall Review
I have used these for about a year. I am a huge fan of minimalist knee pads like this since they offer enough protection for most impacts during trail riding, which are usually more in the bumps and scrapes category than big slams. And although they're less protective, you're more likely to actually wear them. I got these to replace a pair of Fox Launch Enduros, which I liked. These are a similar idea, but the padding is a bit more solid and they stay in place better. Some reviews have said that the sleeve material is a bit thick, or that they don't come up high enough, but I found them to...

Troy Lee Designs A1 MIPS Helmet
The Good

Great fit, not too heavy

The Bad

Relatively warm compared to others

Overall Review
I've had the A1 for a few years now and it's been great. The fit is outstanding, it doesn't move too much, zero pinching, and is overall very comfortable. The pads have held up to multiple washes (by hand). The only negative aspect I can think of is that the helmet is hot. All helmets feel very hot in the summer but this is noticeable warmer than other helmets I've worn. Would I buy it again? Yes. I'd also consider the A2. The A1 is a pretty good deal when you look at the links below for where to buy.

The Good

Awesome minimalist protection

The Bad

Way too hot due to knit fabric, way too short

Overall Review
If you don't like the thigh gap between your pads and shorts then don't get these. I actually really liked the D3O pad these have. However, the knit fabric was very warm. It was surprising compared to other knee products from TLD and others. They stay in place relatively well. There is a tiny amount of material above the actual D3O pad. Positives: they are pedal friendly, don't bunch up, and stay in place. I think they were a good minimalist pad when they came out but there are better options out there. I'm really looking forward to the new Stage knee pad from TLD. I have used POC VPD 2.0...

The Good

Super light

The Bad

Nothing yet

Overall Review
I've only had these for a short time but I'm a big fan. For the first time I bought TLD gloves in large instead of medium. They don't have any hook and loop / velcro so they are snug putting on. After a few rides I think I'll get them in medium as well. They are super lightweight, fit great, don't pinch anywhere, and allow me to open my phone to check a map or check in at home. Would I wear them for winter riding? No. However for 90% of my rides they will fit the bill.

The Good

Durable, light

The Bad

Maybe some fraying but that's normal after abusing them

Overall Review
I've had a pair of these for quite a while. Durability has been outstanding. They are starting to fray on the back of the hand but it's not concerning. In fact, like a scar, it's a badge of honor because I've had them for so long. They are not as breathable as the Air or Ace gloves so I tend to wear these more now when the temps are a little cooler. The fit is fantastic as with all TLD gloves. No pinching in between fingers, no extra material on the finger tips, etc.

The Good

Fit is consistent across all TLD gloves, not too hot

The Bad

Velcro durability is questionable and starting to fail

Overall Review
I'm a Troy Lee glove fanboy. The fit is consistent so I know exactly what I'm getting even if I order online. They work great for me. The fabric goes right to the end of my fingers w/out flopping over. These gloves are relatively light and my hands don't get too sweaty. They clean up well and dry fast after washing. Durability on everything has been great except for the velcro on the right glove. No clue why as it's clean w/ nothing in it. Would I buy again? Absolutely. I'm looking at the all grey and dark green options now. My only beef is the velcro coming undone.

Troy Lee Designs 5450 Long Knee Guards
The Good

The hits these things can take is so insane!! They fit under the jeans and are somewhat breathable...

The Bad

I have heard of these slipping.. Whether that’s true or not I don’t know, mine haven’t!! Otherwise pedals and things can dig underneath the pad from up top of the knee

Overall Review
Great for the riders who don’t get overly tricky on the bike... Otherwise for those who are always getting tricky and ejecting and getting caught up in the bike during frequent crashes I 70% recommend these for you

Troy Lee Designs Raid Knee Guard
The Good

These pads fit really well, don's have any problems with slipping down, provide great protection, can be worn as a DH knee pad in the park or even when trail riding/climbing

The Bad

Only one strap may deter some people, and the fit may not be right for some people (helps to have calves haha)

Overall Review
As someone who rode with the same pair of 661 Kyle Strait knee pads for about 8 years, I was constantly searching for replacement options. Over a course of 2 years or so, I went from shop to shop trying on pads from just about every manufacturer, but could not find one I was happy with. They all were either too bulky/hot/ felt like they would slip or just overall were not comfortable. When TLD launched the raid pad I was a bit skeptical as I have tried their previous knee pads and found them stiff/extremely uncomfortable. However as soon as I tried these on, I was shocked. The pads offer tons...
