Profile Racing Elite MTB Hubs
The Good

204 points of engagement, extremely well built, zero issues, loud

The Bad

Really loud, price tag

Overall Review
Profile hubs seem to be in a league of their own with regards to quality, sound and engagement. 204 points makes getting up and over anything very accurate. Power transfer feels automatic and is hard to go back after riding a set. I've had zero issues with Profile, other than the price tag. They do cost a lot, but most good hubs do these days. Also, with regards to the sound, they are a loud hub which some people either love or hate. Profile has all options now, including boost and XD drivers.

Profile Racing BMX Crankset
The Good

Crank has at least 10 years of life and is still at almost 100% from a brand new bmx crank. Titanium spindle upgrade reduces weight and also increases durability.

The Bad

I have had to replace the bottom brackets a couple times over past 5 years, but its an easy and cheap fix.

Overall Review
I have had this Profile BMX crank on my Black Market Riot (Dirt Jumper hard-tail with 26" tires). I can't think of one negative comment regarding this crank as it has taken a pounding over the years from a 180-200lb rider constantly riding trails and jumps of any size. I did upgrade the spindle to the titanium Profile GDH Ti Spindle Upgrade Kit which saves 3.15 Oz compared to the original chromolly version. I have taken my bike all across Texas and this crank has handled everything from pump tracks to Downhill trails in the Hill country. It keeps my bike a one speed which saves weight and ease...

Profile Racing Elite MTB Hubs
The Good

The sound, the great engagement, very smooth and crisp feeling, the color options, the size options and GREAT customer service!

The Bad

Pawls can start to skip if water gets in them

Overall Review
Awesome hub! I love the sound (although some people dont) it sounds great while doing anything. i will constantly be riding down the street and have people staring at me in awe. It is defanitly attracts attention. the engagement is so chrisp and quick. It also rolls so much quicker than most hubs, i can defanitly see what this hub is commonly used in the BMX racing scene. the only problem i have had with mine is that if water gets into the pawls and teeth it can dry them out and it can stat to skip but it is a VERY easy to pull it out, clean the inside and drop a couple more drops of teflon...

Vital Review
Overall Review
Review by Sean "Griz" McClendon // Action photos by Ian Collins Profile Racing’s humble roots began in 1968, as a race car chassis shop based in New Jersey. Fast forward a few years and the company made the transition to BMX when the founder's children got hooked on racing. In 1979 the brand created their tried and true three-piece BMX cranks, which continue to set the standard for the industry 'til this day. In the mid-1990s, Profile Racing got its start in mountain biking, offering hubs, cranks and even chainrings. More recently, they introduced the Profile Elite MTB hubs, building off the...

Profile Racing BMX Crankset
The Good

durable, bombproof and stiff

The Bad

weight is a big issue

Overall Review
I ran two sets of profile cranks on my downhill bikes and never had any issues with performance or durability. These were one of the first solid cranks that came out during a time when square tapered bottom brackets would round out and crank arms constantly snapped. These were so bombproof that even Bender used them for his hucking back in the day. The crank arms are super stiff and the bottom bracket bearings are very smooth and stay smooth after years of use. Installation is a breeze, removing the cranks is kind of funny as you have to use a special profile tool and then literally hammer on...

Profile Racing MTB Cassette Rear Hub
The Good

fast engagement, looks good, sounds good. Made in USA.

The Bad

axle stud system is prone to loosening (I've got the SS/6 speed, nutted version). The freehub snags sometimes, not in a big way, just barely noticeable. I've been running it SS and haven't noticed this since I took the derailleur off.

Overall Review
These guys have been the benchmark for BMX hubs for a long time. They know what they're doing.
