2013 Giant Reign 2 Bike
The Good

This bike is great on the uphills, destroys the downhills, and (with the correct shock tuning) absolutely flys through the rough stuff without a hitch.

The Bad

In all honestly I have nothing bad to say about this bike.

Overall Review
Sweet bike. It climbs, descends, transitions between the two with ease, and jumps great. This bike has eaten up every type of terrain that I have put it through, and has been really fun to ride.

The Good

Looks great, love the blue/black/white frame colours and matching fork and wheels. Decent wide bars (730mm) , MRP chain guide, dropper post and full slx 2x10 drivetrain are the component highlights. The bike pedals like a champ and defies its weight on the climbs - its deep suspension soaks up the...

The Bad

The bike is let down by the CTD shocks I think. I am still tweaking the fork and have added float fluid to the airchamber to make it more progressive and not dive too much in descend mode. Not quite there yet though. The shock is better, but the bike does not always feel as if it has 150 mm travel...

Overall Review
Overall this is a pretty amazing bike - the rear suspension design allows efficient pedalling and uphills are easy despite the weight -which with decent tyres is around 14.5 kg. Desceding the rough stuff was not the revelation I had hoped it would be but the bike is extremely competent. After 14 rides, I am still sorting the suspension and I think it will be a great descender once I am finished with it. It definitely has the capacity to be the One bike that does everything. I would race an XC/marathon race on it with a longer stem and lighter tyres. Best of all, this is the last of the 26"...

Review by Sean “Griz” McClendon // Photos by Ian Collins and Griz Now in its third production variation and built around proven advice from Giant Factory Off-Road racers Danny Hart and Andrew Neethling, the 2013 Giant Glory 0 meets world-class demands with new geometry, a sharp look, and X0 components. We’ve been eager to become familiar with Giant's Maestro Suspension design and feel out the new slacked out 63.5-degree head angle. In a carbon crazed world the Glory 0 remains aluminum at 36.4-pounds out of the box. We like this accomplishment. While Hart's UCI World Championship title may not...

The Good

Climbs like a beast, descends like beast, comfortable geometry, solid stock tires, cheap price point.

The Bad

stock wheels are heavy, x7 front derailleur is shit and x5 rear isn't much better

Overall Review
I want to start off by saying that if you are looking for a bike that will do everything at under $2000 this is the bike for you. I have had this bike for 7 months now and have about 600 hard miles on it. I have had only one issue and that was the x7 front derailleur getting so out of whack it had to be replaced, but sram sent me a new upgraded x7 model for free and I haven't had a problem since. As for the riding experience this bike provides, it will do equally as well on a long steep climb as it will on a easier DH trail. I have ridden everything from the slick rock of Sedona and Moab to...

The Good

climbs good not too twitchy on rocky tech ups, comes down smooth and wants to be playful and loves the rougher stuff. get the right shock tune to maximize suspension, upgrade to a 36 160mm, slacker, and your all set. needs stiffer wheelset to offset slightly flexy rear end feel.

The Bad

rear end flex but ill put that on my flexy dt x430 wheels

Overall Review
sweet, fun, poppy, corners predictable.

Reviewed by Steve Wentz, Joe Schneider, and Brandon Turman // Photos by Shawn Spomer and Brandon Turman Dubbed the "Ultimate Trail Bike" and developed in conjunction with super-everything champion Adam Craig, Giant's 2013 Trance X 29er is the latest evolution of the original Trance X trail bike, but re-engineered for 29-inch wheels. The bike grew a little, sprouted bigger wheels, 5-inches of Maestro driven suspension, Giant's OverDrive 2 headtube, and the relatively new Contact Switch adjustable seatpost. With the increased popularity of Enduro races, this bike comes at a time when people are...

2013 Giant Reign 2 Bike
The Good

Very Pedal efficient Jumps good. Feels like a little DH bike coming down. Drifts surprisingly steady. Comfortable for long climbs. As I ride in Ashland, OR we have a lot of fun descents but they take a lot of work to get up to.

The Bad

Nothing, This bike is a slayer

Overall Review
Upon purchasing this I immediately changed a few parts out : Chainguide, Straightline Pedals, Shimano XT Brakes, Super Short Stem, Race Face Atlas Freeride Bars (uncut). After riding with these upgrades I have no desire to change out anything else. Even these tires are pretty dope and are predictable. I also ride a 2007 Santa Cruz V10, and I set to replace my 2007 GT iDrive 5 3.0 with this Reign. I still have my V10 but the more I ride this Reign the more I love it. I can pedal all day long and still flick and throw cutties around with the Reign. Super Fun Bike. I am really impressed of the...
