I've been riding and racing DH since the mid 2000's. And Michelin's DH 16, 24 and 32 tires were absolutely amazing back them. So, I got amped when I found out that Michelin was coming back into the DH scene with new tires. Boy, what a letdown. Ordered a new set of the DH34's and after I mounted them and spun the wheels. One of the tires and a BIG wobble. Like, I don't understand how Michelin's QA inspection missed this. While the tires offer great traction on all types of terrain. They are a bit on the heavy side compared to Maxxis, Continentals, and Schwalbe's DH casing tire offerings. And then after a few months, they started to dry crack. Especially on the side walls. And I'm not talking small cracks. The side wall cracks go around the whole tire! It got to the point we're I was afraid to even ride on them anymore. I was afraid to hit a berm at high speeds and the tire would just shred apart. I won't ever try Michelin tires again. I'll give them 2 stars only because their traction was great across the board. But one was defective on arrival and they totally fell apart after very little use.
Specifications
• Double-reinforced Down Hill Shield casing and puncture-resistant reinforcement provide maximum control and high-speed stability, even at low pressure.
• Low Pressure Reinforcement of the structure above the bead allows the tire to roll at low pressure with a high level of lateral stability and increases resistance of the bead zone on pinch impacts.
• High Density Puncture Protection reinforcement gives optimal protection against perforations in the tread.
• Magi-X DH rubber compound provides maximum grip in wet and dry conditions, whatever the temperatures.
• Pressure (PSI): 22 min / 58 max
