New Alloy Crankbrothers Synthesis Wheels - First Look and Ride Impressions
Crankbrothers brings their compliant front and stiff rear wheel concept to a more affordable price point.

Last year Crankbrothers introduced the Synthesis line of carbon wheels, and in doing so they really brought to light how some added compliance in a front wheel can be a very beneficial thing. Pair that with a stiffer rear wheel and you get a bike that simply rides better through most mountain bike terrain – something Crankbrothers has proven with lots of blind testing. Today they are excited to unveil the aluminum counterpart, and we're joined by MTB Savant in the video above for a first look and first ride.

Compliant Front

Stiff Rear

  • Wider, lighter aluminum rim
  • Fewer, lighter spokes
  • Lower spoke tension
  • Narrower, tougher aluminum rim
  • More, stouter spokes
  • Higher spoke tension

"The compliant front wheel improves handling and control in turns, while the stiff rear wheel enhances stability and tracking at speed." - Crankbrothers

Miscellaneous
Tuned Front and Rear Alloy Wheel System for enduro riding and racing.

Compliant Front Wheel – The compliant tuned front wheel improves handling and maximizes grip and control in turns. A wider inner rim width supports a wider tire profile, increased volume and contact patch, and rounds the tire profile to enhance turning.

Stiff Rear Wheel – The stiff tuned rear wheel supports peak loads and enhances stability and tracking at speed. A narrower inner rim width supports a narrower tire profile, improves rolling resistance, and sharpens tire edge for grip.

2-year warranty on rims for the original owner

Wheels sold individually, not in sets
