Sealant shots to go in a convenient package.

Rating:
The Good:

Perfect little sealant shots for road trips or epic rides.

The Bad:

Wish they were 3 ounces instead of 2 ounces.

Overall Review:

Tubeless tires with Stan's sealant makes life on two wheels better. Gone are the days of pinholes and pinch flatted tubes. This slimy latex glue is your new best friend. Rather than focusing on the fine performance of this product that is already widely embraced, I want to take a closer look at the smallest packaged size.

The quart and pint sizes are great for the home workshop, but not a very reasonable solution to take with you in a car or on a bike. Their smallest packaging contains a compact two ounces. These svelte sealant shots can be easily stowed in your pack or gear bag without worrying about spills and ruining expensive gear. The clever spout design makes it possible to remove the valve core and pour directly through the stem into the tire.

Two ounces is the minimum amount

Two ounces is the minimum amount required for the thinnest mountain bike tire. I use about three ounces when installing a new tire in the 2.4" range. After a month, I may add about one more ounce. I bring along two of these and a tube for long weekends or epic rides. Maybe I am splitting hairs, but while the two ounce size is convenient and small, I think a three ounce size would be ideal for the larger volume tires that are gaining in popularity.
