I bought these to replace Specialized Atlas kneepads. While looking for a replacement I struggled to find pads that were both light enough for my liking and had a good fit, because I habe fairly thick calves. These fit me perfectly and I'd wager they would a large range of other people as well.
When first having them in your hands the pads might seem pretty firm, however once they warm up they become softer and conform to the shape of your knee. The upper and lower collar have generously applied silicone grips so the pads don't move while pedaling which is appreciated. I also kinda forget im wearing them because the material of the sleeve breathes exceptionally well.
Whilst the protection is focused on the kneecap and a little towards the shin I still feel they protect me very well because of atop mentioned conformity to the shape of my knee.
All in all I can recommend them as protection for your daily trail or enduro rounds. For bikepark days or downhill races they might be a bit undergunned though.
Bottom cuff tends to ride up my calf
Overall these are a nice pad. Lost a Fox Launch Enduro sleeve which I really liked for a minimalist pad.
Others I have owned: Fox Launch Enduro, Troy Lee Speed, 7idp Transition, POC VPD 2.0.
I tried on both the medium and large pads and large was a perfect fit. Medium was too tight for me. I really like the light fabric and it’s not too hot. The TLD Speed is by far the hottest pad I’ve worn. I really like the overall length of the 100% pads. I have relatively skinny thighs w/ big calves tapering down to chicken legs. I like the weight, breath ability, and minimal aspect of these pads. Little to no rubbing once they warm up (sometimes I wear them driving to the trailhead or place under my legs). My issue is that they slide down my thigh. I’ve tried to put them under my tights and on top of my tights (w/ baggy shorts on top). They still move down on me and the bottom cuff tends to ride up my calf. My only impact testing w/ them has been sliding down a berm. Held up well. Thankfully stayed in place.
Overall a really nice minimal option that’s pedal-friendly. I’d say the issues are more related to my leg shape than the quality of the pad.
