Great beginner clip less pedals.
Rating:
The Good
Low price, works well, adjustable clip tension, large platform
The Bad
Weight (maybe🤷🏻‍♂️)
Overall Review:

I’ve had these pedals for five years now and have put them on several different bikes. They are currently on my gravel bike where they’re likely to stay. These pedals have a solid design, spin well and haven’t developed any creaks. They clear mud with no problem and just work.

I’ve switched back to flats for mountain bikes but found these worked well for long trail rides and laps at the bike park.

Buy them if you want to check out clipless pedals for the first time, aren’t concerned about branding or just want a cheap set for your commuter. They’re great.

Overall Review:

It is a good pedal with a good value for money.

I got this pair of M530 with $28, compared to the upper XT and XTR level pedal.

Spring tension is easy to adjust .

For the first time, I used the weakest spring tension with SM-SH51 single release cleat (cleats included with the pedal).

Then, for more comfort, I added the spring tension several turn. And it makes me more comfortable and confidence on the bike.

For trail use, I prefer SM-SH51cleat and for commuting (bike to work), I prefer SM-SH56 multi-release cleat.

I recommend this pedal!!

Five stars.

Profile, weight, contact area, durability and price. Bottle Opener.
The Bad
Can't think of it.
Overall Review:
I bought these as they offered a slimmer profile than the other shimano platform pedals. There's no real extra weight over the other entry level shimano spds. Despite having a thinner profile i have struck them a fair few times (its rather rocky round here) and the cage is holding up really well. With the platform they don't feel like your feet are on an spd, plenty of contact area with the shoe. They're also the most compatible with my 5.10 minnaars than any other platform clip i've tried. Can be found for £25 in the UK which is a bargain. And finally, probably most importantly, they're the only spd pedal which works as an effortless bottle opener!!
