Devinci Django: jack-of-all-trades
Rating:
The Good
Geometry and suspension are sorted out very well
The Bad
She's a portly lass, 32 pounds. Cable routing isnt great.
Overall Review:

This bike is excellent. She's a heavy girl, but man does she swing above her weight.

It's simultaneously the best climbing and best descending bike I have ever owned. When it came out, it was excellent value compared to other full bikes and the stock spec was very well thought out. The geometry is excellent if you are not fortunate enough to live in alpine or mountain terrain, and the conservative numbers are great for actual trail riding where it's gnarly up and down the trail. The wheelbase isn't excessive and the STA/reach makes you feel right at home in the bike for technical climbing and normal riding.

When descending, rear suspension (with air) is supportive and progressive to not bottom out harshly, but still feel soft on most trails and when pedalling there is no overwhelming bobbing sensation. There's a bit of pedal kick, but its not extreme or noticeable if you don't feel for it. The split pivot design feels awesome under braking and is easily my favourite bike I've ridden while descending due to how it handles consecutive hits and impacts while your hand is on the brakes. It neither wanders/squirms or firms up under braking, feels like it claws with everything it has under braking.

Reach, stack height and wheelbase all feel "just right" to me. STA is steep, HTA is just slack enough to lose the nervousness but not lose the slow speed agility. Honestly, these numbers feel great.

The cable routing for the alu frames is fully external, but I feel they could have done a better implementation with the shock bottom cradle, and some other points that may become rubbing issues with more time. BB is threaded. Fits a full water bottle although there's no bolt attachments for tools or frame storage. The tubes and linkage are thicccc but don't seem to rub anywhere.

All in all, this has been my favourite bike I've owned and will stay in the stable for many years to come.
