Nice looking but Fragile
Middle ground geometry, good for climbing, comfortable going down hill
Very fragile frame, it cracked after only 5 months of use
After close to 12 year using Specialized carbon frames I decided to switch to BMC as the dealer I used to buy my bikes from didn't carry Specialized anymore. He convinced me to try the Agonist One 01 and I got into it because I was looking for something in between the master climber Epic and the comfy SJ. The 110 travel both front and rear called my attention plus a more decent price than Specialized got my to try BMC for the first time this year in June. i was quite happy with my new Agonist until just few weeks ago when my mechanic spotted an ugly crack in the frame. I hadn’t had any big crashes so he said I must have came from a rock hitting the frame. I was really frustrated as it was the first time I had any issues with carbon frames. i had my Epic S-works for 5 years riding on the same rough terrains of Chile, with several rock bumps and scratches but the frame was still in great shape after more than 25.000 kms. I have no need for fragile mtb frames that can’t afford to ride on rough terrains so very disappointed with BMC. i guess I will go back to Specialized whenever I have the means to change bike again.
