Product Spotlight: Jett Elevation Hoody and Combat Ice Gloves

Winter is here. That's a fact. It's also a fact that we want to keep riding. To do that comfortably and keep from freezing to death, we've got to bundle up. That's where the Jett MTB Elevation Hoody and Combat Ice Gloves come into play.

It's pretty clear that this bad boy was designed by mountain bikers, for mountain bikers. Several well thought out features make it work well on and off the bike. First and foremost, the chassis is made from a performance polyester fleece that wicks moisture away from the body and provides warmth on cool days.

Once warmed up, it's a breeze to get some air flow going. Zippered back and pit vents allow for excellent temperature regulation. We found that the zippers are easy to access, even with gloves on.

Got tunes? The Elevation Hoody has an internal pocket that's perfect for an iPod or mp3 player (or other valuables). The pocket has a little flap below the zipper to route headphones through.

One of the coolest things about this hoody is the hood. It's large enough to fit over a helmet, but small enough to work without one, too.

Dual pockets up front provide a good place to warm up hands. The pockets are large, but the material isn't loose - an easily overlooked yet important anti-bar snag feature.

The front zipper comes up above the neck line to provide additional warmth when it's really cold out, and there's a flap behind the zipper to keep the wind from coming through.

The Jett Elevation Hoody retails for $110.00, comes in size small through 2XL, and is available in the online Jett store.

Have your hands ever gotten really cold while riding? Ours have on multiple occasions. It's terrible. Not only is almost all of the feeling in your hands gone, but it's hard to hang on with much strength - kind of like how your hands feel after a long day of downhilling. Enter the Jett Combat Ice Gloves.

The Combat Ice gloves have a wind and waterproof Hipora liner on the backhand. The backhand is also fleece lined for additional warmth, and yes, it's still quite breathable.

Possibly the best thing about these BIKE gloves, is exactly that - they are designed to be bike gloves. They are pre-curved so that there is no bunched up material when gripping handlebars. The Clarino palm is thin enough to still feel the grips and brake levers but thick enough to add some much needed warmth, and there are extra layers in wear prone areas.

A velcro wrist closure keeps things snug up top, and the thumb is wrapped in a soft fabric that's perfect for wiping off sunglasses or goggles.

We'd recommend these for anyone that rides in the winter or in cold climates. Gone are the days of wearing repurposed snow gloves on your commutes and chilly rides. They come in at $40 from size small through 2XL, and are also available in Jett's online store.

Just because it's cold out doesn't mean that the fun has to stop. Stay warm. Keep riding.

Jett gear is crash-tested, Vital-approved.
