Niner Bikes have evidently been keeping busy this winter, and they are starting the year off right by launching 3 new bikes; one all-new frame and 2 new variations of existing bikes:

  • RIP 9 Carbon: Brand new to the Niner line up, the RIP 9 Carbon slots in between the RIP 9 and the RIP 9 RDO to give riders a broad spectrum of bike to choose from in the trail category.
  • Jet 9 Carbon: The current Jet 9 Carbon gets a refresh with the addition of dropper routing, a 142x12-mm rear Maxle and all new alloy rear triangle. The move to an alloy rear triangle enables Niner to bring a higher quality complete bike package to riders without the increase in price.
  • EMD 9: Revised EMD 9 frame adds stealth dropper routing and hydroformed tubing throughout. This new bike will be offered as complete only.

The RIP 9 is Niner's take on the versatile trail bike that likes to go up as much as down. With 125-mm of travel and 29" wheels, it's designed to marry efficiency with fun. The new RIP 9 Carbon features the same design as the RIP 9 RDO, but  matches a full carbon front triangle to an aluminum rear, which helps keep the cost down. The RIP 9 Carbon also inherits the carbon linkage and oversized Angular Contact Bearing pivots from the RIP 9 RDO, as well as its "trail specific" geometry. It slots into the lineup right between the alu RIP 9 and the high-end, full carbon RIP 9 RDO.

It features 100-mm of travel via Niner's multilink "CVA" suspension platform, and now pairs a carbon front triangle with an aluminum rear to help make it more affordable to a larger group of riders. The newly revised frame also offers an updated rear triangle design that takes advantage of 142x12-mm rear wheel spacing, as well as the ability to run an externally routed dropper post.
