The sights and the sounds of the 2018 Leogang World Cup downhill can do the talking. Sven Martin, @maddogboris and Dan Hearn capture the intense drama that unfolded as the fastest mountain bikers on the planet battled to within milliseconds of each other on a fast, dry, rough Austrian course.
If you haven't listened already, hit play on the audio right here and enjoy the story-telling slideshow below with photos and captions.
A huge thanks to Sven Martin, @maddogboris and Dan Hearn for another amazing weekend covering the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.

Was hoping Brook or Shaw was going to take it. This Pierron fellow is on it though.

He also seems like a fun, lively character and that's always good to have at the races!

I miss having the classic vital MTB song in the background of the slideshow, now that the interviews and the slideshow are de-coupled... it's just not the same

race day shows just have audio that's too long to make the slideshow work. the shows leading up to race day are all "normal" w/ the music.

I also miss the classic beat... would be rad to have it back!

for the record, the audio is there behind the intro : ) i tried putting the audio track in the slideshow only but it was too loud. i'll mess w/ it and see if i can get it to where everything is balanced out for the next one.

That classic vital song will be either at my wedding or funeral, which ever comes first. BTW how bout a best of both-long format audio and short audio clips in the slide show? like real short sound bites, like news clips.

I'm not against the new format in general, I think it makes sense with interviews this long, and I'm always happy with more content! But it would be great if the slideshow still had just the music in the background as an option - especially since the interviews were released earlier in the day and I already heard them.
