Qualifying Action from the Cairns World Cup Downhill 9
The morning started out slick, but by qualifying time, the DH track at the UCI World Cup in Cairns, Australia, was primed and ready for racing. Incredibly close competition resulted in the Top 30 Elite Men being within the same 10 seconds and Troy Brosnan on top of the pile. Rachel Atherton and Matt Walker rounded out top runs in Women and Junior classes.
Sven Martin, Duncan Philpott and @maddogboris deliver the high-speed goods from the jungle down under.

I could listen to Martin Whiteley talk shop all day long, the man is an encyclopedia of all things World cup racing.
THANK YOU SVEN !!!!!!!!!!! it DOES NOT go unappreciated !!!!!! thats why you and vital are the fucking BEST..
10 hrs on the hill ...
10 hours? Stop taking naps and get off the hill.
But seriously, can we have a Martin Whitley history lesson clip in EVERY World Cup please? Young riders can appreciate it as much as us old folks I hope. From what he said, Red Bull is trying to be "The Man" and oppress our podium?
Thanks!
Hope the weather holds. Photos, stories, interviews always on point. Not so sure I agree about the RB broadcast and its new preshow monkey dance. Rather that time went to show more riders on track.
whois the lurker in the background?
Is Graeme Mudd on flat pedal shoes on mallets?!
