<b>Thomas Genon may be more well known as a park and slope rider, but he has roots in DH and it shows. After failing to qualify at last year's Rampage, he put more time in on his big bike this year and it paid off with a 10th place finish.</b> - Trumpore
<b>Logan Binggeli was on an amazing run. Unfortunately he would take a HUGE slam after landing this flip off the Sender. We're glad to hear that he's already on the mend following an immediate femur surgery.</b> - Trumpore

After weeks of build up, the Pros took to the Utah desert one last time, each of them searching for Rampage gold. Battling time, traction, mental blocks and weather, the riders all put their best foot forward, making the plunge down the massive mountain. From record setting flips to broken curses and first time senders, these are the stories that highlighted the incredible day.

He was too stoked from landing the flip. he was worried he'd crash and get no score. Which makes sense after watching Aggy miss his last big move.. He was on a helluva run, too.

Hard to disagree with you there. Strait definitely had the speed/flow going, which is why I feel he deserved the win, but when you let a world champ lose he's gonna pin it. The speed Gee carried all the way down was such a fun variation as opposed to the creep-n-huck that we're so used to seeing. Too bad the WC stakes are so high, obviously he and Mick have too much to lose if they wreck. Hope to see more WC pros at the next Rampage.

Red bull pay for spectacle, a big 360 (or flip) is the best. The best in terms of pure mountain biking perfection in rampage...its Gee's run!

agreed it was the best for 'pure' mountain biking...that is subjective of course...but tricks are from bmx, mountain biking is from mountain biking.

Is it just me or has rampage become too much about one BIG trick, and the rest of the run is of little importance????

I went for the first time. Utterly speechless to how HUGE these lines are...I think that the riders should be ready to go for Saturday morning, take a vote, and when the wind is right, DO IT! Saturday, Sunday...whichever. These lines were so SICK and dangerous that taking the wind out of the equation with a two-day window would be the safest bet. Make the decision and let the crowd watch practice or go ride the old course!

Saturday is for riders who qualified on Friday to build lines for Sunday. The schedule was already cut short a day after the rain shut everything down for the entire day on Thursday, and riders were scrambling to finish.

Most lines were not even ridden until Sat. night including the Oakley Sender, and T-Mac and Aggy finished their lines just before finals Sunday morning.

And when you are doing live TV and working with NBC sports with such a large scale operation it is not so simple as just saying, hey lets go.

Its incredible how sitting there, on my couch, watching dudes fly down this hill was getting my adrenaline flowing harder than it does when I ride my own bike.

These guys are nuts. This competition is nuts.

And I love it.

Biking is the best sport on the planet and we as a collective have the most amazing set of athletes, amateurs and all around awesomeness in the sport.

Perhaps they should hold the event in the morning if they know that a storm is coming in the afternoon. But then one of them said it was windy in the morning too. How bout a giant Red Bull tent over the entire venue?

@big bird, the rapid temp changes in the desert make the mornings windy more often than not. On Sunday morning the event was delayed due to the fact that the wind was nuking through the venue. At 9am it was so strong even at the sheltered base camp that I had serious doubts there would be any comp at all.
