Riders seeking minimalist protection should check out POC’s new VPD Air line. Available in both knee and elbow pads, the VPD Air uses the same VPD 2.0 viscoelastic material as their burlier pads, but in a lighter, more breathable package. They also use Polygiene material, which helps keep the dreaded pad funk to a minimum. VPD Air Knee goes for $80, while the VPD Air Elbow retails for $70.
