Intro Text

One of the most exciting races of the season went right down to the wire, ending with a comeback win of sorts and a well-deserved overall title being awarded.

Despite not being the last guy down the hill, Loic knew he had done something special.
Recounting race run mayhem and moments before the flower ceremony fuelled on adrenaline.
Troy Brosnan had the fastest top split but couldn't hold the time all the way down. On such a fast, long and brutal track, the times were remarkably close. Just 0.3 seconds back from the win. Finn and Troy in audio.
Finn Iles on line option one of four by the Minnaarly Huck.
307 points clear. This is the moment Amaury realised he cannot be beat. Your 2018 World Cup overall champ. Bravo.
Amaury Pierron was the last guy in practice and took a massive OTB tumble into the rocks. To recover from that and secure the overall in just a couple of hours is remarkable.
Kade Edwards only 0.9 seconds off a big win today. Shouldn't have grabbed back brake in this twelve o'clock wheelie.
Thibaut Daprela has the junior overall World Cup series wrapped up with his strong consistent performance this year. Another win for yet another fast Frenchman. Team manager Thibaut Ruffin in audio.
Gee Atherton back on form finishing eighth even with a flat tire toward the end of his run. Back in the top ten for his 100th World Cup.
One hundred World Cups by Gee Atherton. With 97 of them in a row with no breaks or injuries. Listen to his thoughts on the highs and lows and what keeps motivating him.
Loose Loris leaned. Some things you can't replicate outside of race runs. Scrub of the day. (scrub pic of the year? -ed)
Another angle of Loris Vergier's insane scrub. He recovered from 14th at the first split to take the last spot on the podium.
The newly named (by me) Minnaarly Gap pioneered and shown her by Greg Himself. The only other rider to step up to the plate this year is Thomas Estaque who also rallied his rental up the XC course to collect a UCI fine.
Rachel stepped up her game another notch for finals and put 5 seconds into the rest of the field.
Tracey ran into some trouble early on in her run, this was the result. Hear her tell the story in the next slide...gnarly!
Tracey Hannah with mixed emotions for her top three. Her time gap may be bothering her but the previous slide puts it all into perspective.
"I just love racing."
Pompon this morning, happier times. A race run crash would see her DNF but she is ok for Labresse.
Vali Höll's perfect season continues with an unbelievable 45 second winning margin.
Key A'Hern looked smooth in practice but would go down hard in his race.
Kye getting back up after crashing in the same place Amaury crashed in trainign. He would get back on the bike fully winded and finish his run.
Charlie Harrison less than two seconds off the podium but with his career best result thus far. America's DH future is bright with a lot of riders in the wings and stepping up.
The yellow Videotron box was replaced with a natural step down this year that was a lot harder to scrub. But not for Mark Wallace. One of the best.
Messy run for Brook a crash and then to add insult a flat too. Watch out Brook at World Champs is my hint - Sven.
Crossing the line into the lead is one of the best feelings, especially when there is only one man left to come down after you. Loic wins only his second World Cup, hard to believe for this multi World Champion.
Danny Hart last man on the hill after a great weekends racing. Third for the day on the toughest track of the year.
Keith "Phunkt" Valentine pays homage to the ultimate Mt St Anne warrior.
These guys have finished close so many times, great competitors but also close friends.
Trek Factory Racing back on top with Team of the Day award, onwards and upwards.
Key A'Hern looked smooth in practice but would go down hard in his race.
Big crowds at Mt St Anne today, what will we see at Worlds next year.
Henry Kerr with another podium. Good back half to the season.
The crowds came and were rewarded.
The entrance to the new Tarzan section was the downfall of a number of riders, Finn Iles being one. It's a shame he couldn't deliver the run he wanted in front of his home crowd.
Yeeeeooooow.
Mariana Salazar took her best ever result away from MSA with 5th place.
4th place womens finisher Marine Cabirou.
It's a real shame to see a mechanical holding Tracey Hannah back in finals, but that's the nature of racing.
The emotions these two must be feeling seem overwhelming to most, but both are just stoked on racing and enjoying the glory of the moment.
Turn down for what? Reece Wilson scrubbing into the finish area.
4 seconds back for Luca Shaw, narrowly missing the podium by one place.
Once again a nail biting race in Mont Sainte Anne that thankfully was unaffected by the weather today.
Beating Loris Vergier, who was sat in 2nd when Amaury Pierron came down, was all that was needed for him become the World Cup overall winner.
Compared to the thinned out crowd last year in the rainy finals, the turnout was massive and atmosphere electric.
Being the final rider of the day carries the heaviest pressure. Danny Hart checks his time after a wild run to take 3rd, matching his best result this year. Go watch the replay - it's worth it.
Check out the separate winning bike feature of Loic Bruni's Specialized Demo!
Amaury Pierron wasn't the only one to secure the overall today. Thibaut Daprela took the win by 0.98 seconds and secured the World Cup overall.
Champagne showers for Rachel Atherton. Don't worry, she left enough for a drink too!
Congratulations to Loic Bruni for taking his second World Cup win!
Kade Edwards keeping as far away as he can from a dirty banner in his race run.
It's all fun and games in the pits after an intense race day. Who will be the next unlucky one to make the tubeless tyre explode? Keep pumping to find out...
Fatigue and some mental demons may have held Tahnée back somewhat but that didn't stop her attacking hard.
The YT Mob have stood behind Angel Suarez since his signing and it's great to see him put a scorching run down and finish 9th.
Bashguards and bodies were abused today in the name of racing.
Matt Walker took 12th position in his first World Cup as elite UK National Champion.
Samantha Soriano second place junior lady muscling through the rocks in her race.
Gwin has been an inspiration for the up and coming juniors. Sam Robbie does his best to emulate Aaron's cornering technique.
The Commencal team are a tight bunch. Synchronised poses are on point, too.
Vali Höll might have the junior womens field beat at every round, but the battle was on for 2nd and 3rd place. Mazie Hayden had 2nd at the first 3 splits but dropped back into 3rd by the finish line.
Australia's Patrick Butler took 4th in junior mens.
Dean Lucas holding the rocket booster wide open into the finish. 10th place today.
Two World Cup overalls secured and current leaders of the team overall - Commencal Vallnord had another successful weekend racing. See you all in La Bresse!
