Ladies and Gentlemen, Cam McCaul is proud to introduce you to his brand new Prototype Trek Slopestyle bike!
...and what other rider is going to provide their own background beats?
After 8 years of development with Trek, the frame has been refined and perfected for slaughtering the competition at the biggest slopestyle events on the planet.
The geometry is similar to a Trek Ticket hardtail. About a 15-inch seat tube, 22.25-inch top tube and 15.75-inch chainstays.
Full Shimano Saint drivetrain and brakes. 170mm cranks, ethirteen guide, Shimano DX flat pedals...ready for business.
Shimano Saint shifting with a custom 6-speed drivetrain.
Over the years, Cam realized he never used his 3 lowest gears, so out they went, saving precious weight.
The boys at the Trek Race Shop machined this shifter mounting plate to work with the Saint shifter and water bottle cage bolts. TRICK!
Cam has been working on an internal anti-spin system for his cranks for a few years now and this is how the mod starts...
Looks scary, doesn't it? Don't worry, his anti-spin mechanism ends up nice and clean.
The finished product, all nice, clean and quiet.
Cam's picky about his bars. Bontrager bars with 50mm rise are a for his riding position.
29-inch bar width, 9-degree back sweep and 5-degree up sweep.
Two wheels, two brakes...makes sense to us. Shimano Saint stoppers.
Keeping the brake cables organized is done with the help of a Straitline hydraulic detangler. Cam has the 2nd prototype.
Cam's Straitline hydraulic detangler uses a cup made by Cane Creek that acts as a headset bearing race, but features tabs to position the detangler.
Cam rides a full suspension, so he wants his suspension to work. Fox 831 up front and custom-tuned Fox Float out back.
The linkage and shock tune on Cam's prototype Trek is progressive to ease those big hits.
Bontrager XR1 Team Issue tires, not made for slopestyle, but perfect for slopestyle. 2.4 front, 2.25 rear.
Cam needed a little color in his life this year and Trek was happy to oblige.
No better way to end...shredding the bike, shredding the drums! THANKS CAM!
