Top performing privateer, with a 29th. Ronan Dunne accepting his pay check from Wyn Masters. Go support this movement and donate now. Cheers Wyn -Sven Martin
Trench warfare - the final turn into the woods. -Sven Martin
I love it! Camille Balanche backing up her World Champs win last year with a World Cup win on Saturday! With a clear and level head she just rode her race to plan and with her superior balance and skill in the wet woods, once again came out on top. Not one crash for her all weekend long! I don't think anyone else can say that. -Sven Martin
Camille Balanche backing it up. -Dan Hearn
Best Buddies and an absolute Dreamteam. Troy Brosnan and his mechanic, Aaron Pelttari. He's a legend with his tools and on the bike! If you haven't listened to their interview...do it now. It's 17 minutes, but worth every second! @maddogboris
Troy Brosnan heading to the line with red, red, red and a green split. What must go through your head when you see that, flying through the air with just meters to go? -Dan Hearn
Troy has spent a lot of time on his Harley this off-season, and it shows with this attacking style. Steve Peat would approve of his foot and in particular his heel position. -Sven Martin
Troy. What a guy! A few of the early predictions didn’t include him up on top. I think he has made sure we can’t forget about him for the next one. -Sven Martin
Blurry celebrations for all Saturday night in Leogang. -Sven Martin
Pau Menoyo Busquets takes the win in the ever exciting junior category! -Sven Martin
What's better than winning a World Cup in front of the home crowd? Sophie Gutohrle will remember that moment for the rest of her life! Nearly 11 seconds faster than Leona Pierrini on P2. @maddogboris
Thibaut Daprela, what a run!!! Wild and entertaining, if it wasn’t for his mistake in woods it would have been even tighter with Troy. Can he safely ride at this pace, with such abandon, without injury all season long? -Sven Martin
In such a fearless, wild run Thibaut Daprela chose to take this rutted wide line in the woods to avoid crashing in the same place as last year. A big stall pushed him back to second spot, but that will be a run to remember. -Dan Hearn
After a big stall in the woods, Thibaut Daprela still took the hot seat with just Troy to come. He didn’t hide the fact that he was over the moon with that run! -Dan Hearn
Vali came down and it was green at all four splits, but it wasn’t meant to be. Still, a great start to her first Elite World Cup season either way. -Sven Martin
Since last year's World Champs in Leogang Vali spent a lot of time thinking about this jump. Can you imagine how it must have felt to hit it for the first time after her crash? @maddogboris
Junior Woman, Leona Pierrini during her seeding run, just look at that mess of ruts to choose from. Second place for her in the final. -Sven Martin
Canadian shredder, Jackson Goldstone, did pretty well for his first World Cup. Just 0.5 seconds off the win is a proper start of the season. @maddogboris
Amaury Pierron may admit to being a little hesitant and not wanting to crash, but also showed the aggression and fire that we know him for. 3rd place in his first downhill race for a year and a half. -Dan Hearn
Monika Hrastnik staying clean in the woods like her team mate Camile. Great day for Team Dorval! -Sven Martin
Mullet-toting - FMD junior, Dennis Luffman, held a great run together and took 3rd place. -Dan Hearn
Reece Wilson didn’t get the drone follow-cam treatment. Is it a conspiracy or did the drone hit a pole? So stoked to see him on the podium this weekend, proving that last year was no fluke. -Sven Martin
Marine Cabirou sending it for the crowd in the finish area! It was good to have some spectators in Leogang! Also props to them for making some noise! 4th Place for Marine. @maddogboris
4th place at his first World Cup for Madison Saracen junior Jordan Williams. -Dan Hearn
Benoit Coulanges sending it on the finish jump on the way to 5th! @maddogboris
Your Junior Men's Podium in Leogang 2021 @maddogboris
Dakotah Norton was fully on it in Leogang. Super pinned and steezy as f*&k! After a 4th in Quali he ended up 9th in finals. #USDH @maddogboris
After seeing Christopher Grice riding so well in training and finishing first in quali, it was obvious that he did his homework in the off-season. Now he just has to bring it down in his race run. #USDH @maddogboris
Brook was on a heater of a run and is in the form of his life. A crash in sight of the finish (at the same spot that claimed Vali) must be gutting, but he was stoked with his riding and can’t wait to crack on to Les Gets. -Dan Hearn
Don't let the bulldog spot you taking a pic of him running the bullet head! -Sven Martin
Loris. Well we will never know just where he would have placed. Run over with a very early flat after such good early season form. -Sven Martin
Bummer for Loris not being able to put a proper run down. He will be hungry in Les Gets. -Sven Martin
New Year, new teams to shoot. Boris taking care of the new cool kids' team. -Sven Martin
Just 0.03 seconds off the podium for Danny Hart at his first race with Cube. -Dan Hearn
Great to see youngster Tuhoto go back and collect his (in pieces) visor. When you’ve had to work hard, you don't take things for granted. Waste not, want not. Better luck at the next one. -Sven Martin
Another new, young trade team - The Union. Joe Bowman from Steel City Media has put this together to give back to the sport and give some riders an opportunity to run with. And no they're not staying in the fancy Mama Thresl behind them. Probably 4 to a room in a basement. -Sven Martin
PA and Grant bring gun cases to toolbox wars this year. The battle is on. -Sven Martin
Matt Walker’s shoulder popped out in the stumps in his race run, ending his hope of a good result. He managed to ride to the finish still and is hoping to race in a couple of weeks at the EWS. -Dan Hearn
Lozza G only half a second from the podium with a 7th spot. -Sven Martin
I don’t think anyone expected this to be the top performing Commencal team this weekend. Hats off to Dorval for killing it on race day! -Sven Martin
Nina took a big crash in morning training of finals day and chose to sit out her race run. Smart decision. -Sven Martin
Ed Masters with the enduro skills on showcase, pre-hopping high above the rut to give him those added centimeters and entry angle into the next corner. What a stormer Eddie put in, coming back well off a recent big injury where he broke 7 bones. -Sven Martin
Ed Masters comes down with a great time much to the delight of the crowd, his team and brother. -Sven Martin
2 stoked pals enjoying their time in the pits! @maddogboris
Matteo Iniguez giving the fans some style over the final jump. -Dan Hearn
Gwin has got to be hoping for better conditions and a drier track for Les Gets. Tough to be based in dusty California for World Cup prep with Covid travel restrictions. -Sven Martin
Aaron Gwin charging hard and looking to repeat his wins carved into the trees for eternity. Just 6 seconds off Troy’s time was enough to put him back to 22nd place. -Dan Hearn
Race one, day one can only mean one thing...beers with Mark Maurissen from GT Factory Racing. -Sven Martin
Pom Pon was flying all week long. Knowing she had to give it her all for the win she attacked hard from the gate but had a fall right in the beginning. She brought it back to a top two position but then went down again. -Sven Martin
Another gem of a tattoo for Warner. -Sven Martin
The battle of the greats. Anne in Myriam’s corner and Ceclie in Vali’s corner! Exiting battles ahead. Did anyone else see Cecile's Insta video of her absolutely shredding the World Cup Track on her trail bike yesterday? -Sven Martin
Jordi doing what he does. -Sven Martin
Remi Thirion the quiet assassin, steadily taking care of business. 8th Place for the #8. -Sven Martin
The German Steve Peat, Erik Irmisch in moody Leogang. -Sven Martin
We freaking love Gaetan Vige! When I asked him to show some steeze on the jump, he was stoked. Maybe too stoked. Check the next shot for the aftermath. @maddogboris
Vige paying tax for his photo on Vital. -Sven Martin
Tahnee on the podium doing what she can, riding in discomfort and pain with a recently flared up back injury. Hopefully she can come back strong and battle for the win again in Les Gets. -Sven Martin
Day one training saw a bit of everything from the weather. Sun, rain, wind and fog. -Sven Martin
This is what happens when you miss out a year and a half of racing and have to watch from the internet. You go a little bit stir crazy. Dean Lucas is back. -Sven Martin
21st place for the 21-year-old. Kade Edwards sideways as usual. -Sven Martin
Guess the rider. -Sven Martin
Kids. Tik Tok. I feel old. -Sven Martin
Women's Podium and the first of many champaign showers this season. -Sven Martin
#fishfromabove done on #panshotfriday -Sven Martin
Kade and the British Kids love slapping ruts - it's all they do all winter long. He even has the body-drag-rut-banger-technique dialed. -Sven Martin
Another cursed year for Charlie Harrison here in Leogang, flying home yet again with a major injury! Healing vibes chuck. #USDH -Sven Martin
Some things will never change. Give Brendog a jump and you won't get disappointed! @maddogboris
Quick pre-trackwalk shooting with Troy in the underground parking in Leogang. @maddogboris
FMD Racing - never change! @maddogboris
When it started raining, most riders were looking for shelter. Taylor Vernon threw some whips instead. @maddogboris
Last year this was one of the hardest sections in the mud. This year it was a bit more like peanut butter. While others nearly stopped, Vali kept the momentum through the section and kept pushing in qualis. @maddogboris
As Sven mentioned earlier, Pompon was already going crazy-fast in her first training runs on Thursday. Second in qualis just behind Vali and 8th after a crash in her race run. @maddogboris
Finn Iles had a proper 6th place in qualifying, and we wouldn't have been surprised to see him on the podium in finals. Unfortunately it didnt work out and he ended up 14th. @maddogboris
10th for Loic Bruni in finals. He's nursing a fractured heel, but we can't wait for Les Gets to see him back in action. @maddogboris
Greg Minnaar and mountains always work! Not the season start he was looking forward to, but pretty sure he is already puzzling to be back where he belongs in Les Gets. @maddogboris
I can't remember if we had a World Cup with more weather changes like we had on training day. Rain, fog and boiling hot sun, and that changed within 15 minutes. TL;DR - I had a wet ass all day long and still got sunburned. @maddogboris
Our buddies from Pinkbike enjoying some fresh air and grass in the morning before B Practice. @maddogboris
The Scott Factory DH Team chilling in the field while waiting for Dean Lucas. @maddogboris
Damn it! That was a hard one to see Vali going down. Would have put all my money on her. @maddogboris
Steeze - Greg Williamson - pan shot with a very dirty sensor. @maddogboris
Jacob Dickson finished 20th and I won with this lucky vertical pan since I didn't have time to change camera settings. @maddogboris
If there is a problem, there is a solution. And sometimes you have to hold a ball with your head on the wall. If you follow Tahnee on Instagram you probably heard about her issues with her neck and back. Big respect to her for always fighting back. Mindset of a Warrior! @maddogboris
From 17th in qualis to 16th in finals. Defo not the Result Bernard Kerr was expecting. At least he got the sickest scrub on the Finish Jump. Have a look where he took off the lip! @maddogboris
Proper welcome for Troy Brosnan by his Teammates in the finish area! This guy deserved the win. Not many riders can handle the pressure going down the hill last. @maddogboris
It's so good to be back at races, and we are getting more and more back to normal. @maddogboris
Mark Wallace getting aero and slipping into the top 20. -Dan Hearn
The flat-out Leogang track is all about momentum and carrying speed. Tucks are almost mandatory on the upper course where the ground is smoother. -Dan Hearn
Angel Suarez qualified 10th but couldn’t back it up on race day and finished 27th. He’s looking great at his new place with Commencal and had a lot to do with the testing of the new bike. -Dan Hearn
Day 1, run 1, plate 1 for Matt Walker. Matt’s got a cool head under pressure but struggled in the woods and dropped back from a podium spot at the first split to 25th. -Dan Hearn
Connor Fearon had a hard time in the muddy woods in qualifying and didn’t make finals for the first time in 10 years of racing World Cups. Just 1 spot away from qualifying. Brutal. -Dan Hearn
Having just had an immense crash in the stumps, Charlie Harrison still managed to pull some style on his way down the mountain. Sadly he flew home for surgery after a crash in the lower woods. Heal up quick Chuck! -Dan Hearn
The first race always gives a chance for people to find their place and dial their process in with a new team. -Dan Hearn
Myriam Nicole had a crash on the second corner of the track ending her chance of a podium. She’s riding well and will be hungry for the top step in front of the French fans in Les Gets! -Dan Hearn
Benoit Coulanges has been a favorite of ours to shoot for years thanks to a great style on the bike. He proved in finals that he has the speed to mix it up with the best of the best. 5th place, taking his first podium in 9 years of racing World Cups. -Dan Hearn
Jamie Edmondson looked aggressive in training but fell back to 42nd place in finals. The rain rolled in most days but the stormy showers didn’t affect the upper course too much. -Dan Hearn
After his dominating performances at Maribor and Leogang last year, Oisin O’Callaghan had a disappointing final and finished 8th. -Dan Hearn
Conditions improved as days went on and luckily stayed consistent for finals. The woods were still treacherous as ever though! -Dan Hearn
The woods were the talk of the track from day 1 and claimed their fair share of victims. -Dan Hearn
Finally, a downhill race with some fans! It felt almost back to normal again for a few moments in finals with the chainsaws revving and the fans cheering. -Dan Hearn
Peace out Leogang! Thanks for holding off with the weather on race day and giving us some class racing! -Dan Hearn
