The 2021 Canadian National Mountain Bike DH Championships took place at Kicking Horse Bike Park in Golden, BC. Relentlessly dry and dusty conditions were served up the entire weekend and the course became a battle of bombholes and grip strength. Jake Paddon was there to capture the photos and get rider interviews along the way in this slideshow.

Your 2021 Canadian National Elite Women’s Champion, Casey Brown! Taking a quick detour from some freeriding to shred the DH course paid off. -Jake Paddon

Jackson Goldstone threw down a masterclass today taking the Canadian National
Championships title for the Junior Expert Men. -Jake Paddon
Mark Wallace looked smooth, calm and collected on track all weekend. A red flag
during his race run meant he had to head back up and do a re-run coming down into 2nd. -Jake Paddon
Miranda Miller traded in the Enduro bike for DH rig this weekend. She certainly still
knows a thing or two about crushing a DH course, 2nd Elite women. -Jake Paddon
It’s not all business. Gabe Neron found a little time to throw a cheeky bar hump in. -Jake Paddon
After some early-season European racing, Bailey Goldstone had a crack at her first
How good is it to be back racing! Nothing quite matches the race pit vibes. -Jake Paddon
There was no time to work into it. Riders headed straight into this loose, dry chute. It
caught more than a few out. -Jake Paddon
Heiko Krause wasted no time getting up to speed. Hitting this inside line that not
many dared to brave. -Jake Paddon
Tristan Lemire hit the deck just prior to just. A bit of a dust off and line check and he
was straight back into it. -Jake Paddon
By the end of the weekend this chute had become incredibly blown out, much like the
rest of the track. Lines were constantly changing. -Jake Paddon
Yet another dry dusty chute that changed several times throughout the course of the
weekend. -Jake Paddon
Remi Gauvin opted to bank some air miles rather than scrub this jump. It’s all about
the street cred! -Jake Paddon
Forrest Riesco. Blowing s**t up! -Jake Paddon

Brett Rheeder was a man on a mission all weekend. -Jake Paddon
Several seconds after this shot, Brett Rheeder became a victim of the loose gravel and dust going down hard. Here’s hoping we see him at some more DH races! -Jake Paddon
A little more tree weaving. -Jake Paddon
Just line it up and let it flow. -Jake Paddon

down some style. The Elite women's field was stacked with talent and Ainhoa would end the day in 6th. -Jake Paddon
Owner of Dunbar Cycles, Rob Venables had a tough day at the office. 4 crashes in his
race run was not what he was looking for. Thanks for your support of DH racing in Canada Rob! -Jake Paddon

seeing a lot more of her in years to come. -Jake Paddon
Eyeing up one of the most blown out turns on track. More than a few people didn't
make it. -Jake Paddon
