Here's a new installment of mountain bikes and gear from the Taipei Cycle Show, where we see into the future of our sport.
Maxxis was displaying new versions of their popular Minion DHF and Shorty in a new profile optimized for wider rims. The tires shown here are mounted on 35mm internal rims.
In addition to new sizes and profiles, Maxxis has rolled out additional features aimed at the aggressive all-mountain and enduro racing markets. Double Down casings land between dual-ply DH casings and their lighter EXO casing, with about a 200g weight savings over their standard DH tires.
Maxx Grip compound is a new variant of their 3C technology. Designed for extra grip, it is essentially Super Tacky rubber on the center knobs and Slow Reezay side knobs over a harder durometer base.
